That’s right – he’s blind.
Artist George Redhawk is legally blind, but that somehow didn’t stop him from creating the amazing animated GIFs we’ve EVER seen. See, after George lost his vision, he began to explore the world of photo manipulation, using software designed to aid the visually impaired.
George has been “…using a photo morphing software which I have been experimenting with, and perfecting over several years,” he tells Graphic Art News. “Following the loss of most of my vision, I began to explore this medium as a means to express the world through my damaged sight. My art is designed with the idea to challenge and in some cases, disturb the visual sense of ‘order,’ very much in the same way that my vision has become a constant challenge to me.”
His art stems from a desire to showcase the world as he sees it with his damaged eyesight, something we at Pondly are grateful for, because that’s given birth to his amazing portfolio of amazing animated GIFs. His series of on-going works is entitled “The World Through My Eyes,” and he recently partnered with the KickStarter art display project BlackDove.
